About
Pocket Playbook started as a group chat where a few friends kept swapping notes about the games we were stuck on. At some point we realised we were basically writing guides for each other, so we decided to put them somewhere public. Nothing fancy — just people who play a lot and like explaining things clearly.
Every game we cover gets real playtime. We don't skim a trailer and call it a review. Someone on the team installs the game, plays it for hours across a few sessions, and takes notes on what worked and what got frustrating. Only then do we sit down and write.
We pick games across genres on purpose. A puzzle fan and a strategy nerd want very different things, and we try to serve both. Popularity matters a little — if lots of readers are asking about a title, we bump it up the list — but curiosity drives most of what we choose.
The site stays independent. We're not tied to any studio, and we say when something isn't fun. That's the whole point.
Markus Vogel — Markus has been playing mobile games since the days of tiny screens and physical buttons. He edits every guide on the site and still argues about difficulty curves for fun.
